Latin Charity Night
USD6,000 was raised for charity during the seventh Latin American Night organised by the IWCK Spanish-Speaking Group, on 14 October. Over 300 guests turned out for the annual event, prepared to breathe a bit of hot Latin American air in the centre of Kyiv, although the event had changed venue this year, and was held in the Lavra Gallery. Основная масса делает это на работе: собирая информацию для нужд фирмы или развлекаясь под прикрытием служебной необходимости. По телефонной линии из дома "подключается" меньшинство. Доллар за час праздного чтения и просмотра картинок - деньги для некоторых немалые. И уж совсем единицы используют такую возможность выхода в Сеть, как Интернет-кафе. Заведений этих в Киеве насчитывается от силы пара десятков. Для многомиллионного города это очень мало. Например, в Китае (где Интернет - объект постоянных гонений со стороны властей) только в одном Шанхае имеется тысяча точек "компьютерного общепита". Это и маленькие уютные заведения, и огромные залы на 100-500 мест. У нас пока имеются только Интернет-кафе и бары первого типа. Одни трансформировались из сообществ любителей компьютерных игр и сетевого общения, другие организовали при своих салонах крупные торговцы офисной техникой ("Формоза" в районе Китай-города). Есть и просто кафе, не преследующие каких-либо клубных или рекламных целей ("Имидж.Ру" на Новослободской, "Новая почта" в районе Китай-города). Хотя Интернет-кафе предлагают и еду, и алкогольные напитки, и целый спектр офисных услуг, большинство приходит сюда главным образом ради того, чтобы побиться в Quake или особенно популярную сейчас игру Half-Life. Высокоскоростной доступ в сеть (2 Mbit - в десятки раз быстрее, чем на домашнем модеме) позволяет сражаться не только с соседом по столу, но и устраивать турниры с людьми на другом конце земли. Час эксплуатации "станции" стоит 10-20 руб. в зависимости от популярности места и класса техники. Минимальное оплачиваемое время колеблется от 15 минут до часа. В среднем московском Интернет-кафе столиков (которые более уместно было бы назвать рабочими местами) совсем немного, около 10 штук. Самое большее, что нам удалось найти, - это 24 компьютера в кафе компании "Агмар" в Московском дворце молодежи. У некоторых заядлых игроков среди компьютеров есть любимчики, поэтому на самое горячее, вечернее, время места кое-где приходится оплачивать заранее. Арендовать один компьютер на компанию не получится. Смотреть в монитор допускают максимум вдвоем. Кое-где в помещениях запрещено курить, но это даже к лучшему. Залы очень маленькие, основная масса посетителей не вышла из студенческого возраста, и там, где запрет не действует, долго находиться невозможно. "Зависнуть" с пивом в Интернет-кафе на ночь, как это делает молодежь за рубежом, в Москве пока трудно. Большинство заведений закрывается в 21-22 часа - как раз тогда, когда в "чатах" (на сайтах для любителей поболтать с анонимным собеседником) только-только начинает собираться народ. Еда и выпивка в Интернет-кафе явно играют вспомогательную роль горючего: ассортимент нехитрый (чипсы, пицца, пиво) и отличается дешевизной. Правда, в центре Москвы администрация часто наполняет свой Интернет-бар элитными коньяками и для желающих доставляет еду из соседнего ресторана. В таких местах встречаются даже люди в галстуках. Осенью в Москве должно было открыться первое Интернет-кафе на сотню посетителей. Однако сроки реализации проекта под названием KlickKafe сдвинулись на полгода. Если к февралю он все-таки будет осуществлен, то москвичи получат возможность сидеть в Сети за те же деньги, что и сейчас, но у жидкокристаллических мониторов и круглые сутки. |
